Objectives:

  • Empower community members through providing training on ECCD services and behavior changes.

  • Train Commune Councils to make informed choices on ECCD using the Child Friendly Community methodology (CFC)

  • Improve access to preschool services, including meals, for children aged 3-5.

  • Implement advocacy activities at the district level in order to replicate the integrated ECCD approach outside the project area.

Activities: 

  • Support and train Core Parents from the community ('Lead Parents') on early stimulation for child development, child health, and nutrition, as well as children’s cognitive, social and emotional development.

  • Lead parents to support their children’s development and provide peer-to-peer support to other parents.

  • Train and form teachers from the local community on home-based ECCD to build the capacity of lead parents.

  • Train CCWC members on home-based ECCD to build the capacity of lead parents.

  • Develop quality books and learning aids for children and their parents. Books are gifted to families, who are encouraged to use the First Read books at the parenting sessions to improve their child’s development and master early stimulation techniques.

  • Strengthen community-based maternal and early childhood health services.

  • Improve early childhood learning and development of deprived children aged 0-5 years old.

  • Prevent future learning stuntedness in children aged 0-5 years old.

  • Increase support from authorities to address educational issues of children aged 0-5 years old.

Activities:
